Sea Meadows is a 21 acre estate on the Queen of the Gulf Islands ~ Gabriola. The island is just a 20 minute ferry ride from Nanaimo, and once you have arrived, Sea Meadows is less than a mile from the ferry dock.

The estate consists of four homes connected by a paved, 1/3 mile oval driveway, in a very private, peaceful, and pretty and park-like setting. The main residence is set back about 1/3 of a mile from the rental homes to ensure maximum privacy for all. There are four (4) rental homes. The first two "The Gate House" and "The Round House" are approximately a city block apart, and are 150 & 300 feet from cozy Descanso Bay. The third house, "The Honeymoon Hideaway" is set back further, and has its own private setting. The fourth house, called the "Estate House" is for rent for the first time, and sits alone on top of a small hill overlooking the valley, down to the sea. Only a lightly traveled road separates the estate from the natural cove and unobstructed beachfront. The beach is a typical B.C. beach, rocky & sandy yet flat walk on waterfront. You may beach comb, swim or even launch and anchor your boat in the bay. For large boats there is a marina 10 minutes away.

The entire estate is walled in on 3 sides by trees, with a concrete entrance, & entrance pillars in front. We are also able to accommodate 35 & more guests. The property is available for short-term and long-term, as well as weekly rentals. It is perfect for a corporate retreat, family reunion, wedding, etc. Of course as listed each house is available for individual rental. All are individually private.

The "Estate House", the Main house of the property is about 5000 SQ. feet in size and on 1 floor. There is a guest/staff room on the second floor. The house sits on top of a hill overlooking the valley, down to the entrance pillars, and the sea. There is about 5000 ft. of patio/decking that surrounds the house and overlooks the sea. All the rooms are quite large including a 1400 sq ft. entrance and living room area with a piano, fireplace, and a 61 inch TV with CD, DVD, VCR and surround sound theater. There are 2 large fireplaces, and a very large dining area with a pool table. The master suite sits separately from the other bedrooms, making it very private. The over 600 Sq. Ft., 45 Ft. long master suite has a sitting area & a raised king size bed. There is a pillow-top spa for 2 that overlooks the estate, as well as a separate multi headed shower, separate sinks and a separate room with a bidet and a 32 inch TV. The other 2 bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house and together are the size of the master suite. They both have 27 inch stereo TV's & connect to their own living room. A 500 Sq. Ft. game/living room, has 2 computers, TV, Nintendo, ping pong table, basketball arcade style game, and a foosball table. There is an eat in kitchen with all that one would expect, as well as a laundry room. More pictures will be posted as soon as weather permits. We have not rented this house out before and have just decided to do so. The high season & holiday rental is $5600,(May 15 - October 15) a week and the low season rate is $4300( Oct 16 - May 14). A security deposit for damage as well as missing items is required. The Estate House is a NO SMOKING house. After May 14 rates are subject to change without notice. The Renter/Credit Card Holder takes full responsibility for any damage to or missing items, done by themselves as well as any of their guests. The house can sleep 12 & more. Maid service is weekly, full time staff is available. All other amenities of the estate are shared with others, including our 1200 Sq. Ft. Gym, including a treadmill, bikes, and a 4 stack 16 station, Hoist., the 8 person therapeutic spa, the playground, trampoline, basketball hoop, horseshoes, etc.. (Of course for total privacy and large groups the entire estate may be rented.) Our boat are also available weekly with captains. The Gate House features an extra large living room (over 600sq.ft.), with 3 additional queen size sofabeds. The living room may also be divided in half making additional sleeping quarters private, four (4) large bedrooms, 14' x 15' each with queen sized beds complete with nice linens and comforters. Each room is decorated in different decor with sliding doors leading to a 12'X 15' private patio with cedar patio furniture. The two (2) full bathrooms are equipped with fluffy towels and the kitchen is completely self-contained with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware & utensils. The Gate House includes entertainment features such as a stereo color TV, VCR and an am/fm radio.

The Round House consists of one large bedroom with a queen size bed and also comes equipped with a queen sized pull out couch in the living room. This house is decorated in oriental motif with attention to detail such as the high ceilings and ceiling fans to hand woven wooden blinds. The bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub for two with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dinnerware & utensils. The comfort of the living room is enhanced by the luxury of having a 27" color TV with VCR for your pleasure.

“The Honeymoon Hideaway” is a good-size cottage in a very private park-like setting. The interior has a vaulted ceiling, a Four Poster Queen size bed over 7 feet high done in solid ash, and custom wall covers that make for a warm and romantic atmosphere. The living room area has a comfortable couch that opens into a queen size bed, as well as a 27" color TV with VCR for your pleasure.

The kitchen is full size with a pub-type eating area and 4 suede-covered bar stools. Kitchen is complete with full size stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots, pans and utensils. The bathroom has both a shower and bathtub. This cottage, though designed for a romantic interlude, is also perfect for a family with 2 small children.

WEDDINGS!

PROPERTY IS ALSO PERFECT FOR A FAMILY REUNION, WEDDING, CORPORATE RETREAT, OR ANY LARGE FUNCTION. The main house (though not available for over night rental) is perfect for that large reception. With a deck area of more than 5000 square feet, as well as the more than 3000 ft of living room, kitchen and dinning areas it has easily handled large functions, and parties for more than 100. Smaller more intimate events are also welcome. In addition there is plenty of parking for a large number of vehicles. The 3 rental houses together have accommodated more than 20 quests comfortably. We have had the occasional RV, & or tents that our clients have brought to accommodate overflow. Children love to pitch tents around the property. We have a barbecue large enough for any occasion. Staff, catering, and entertainment may also be arranged.

CHILDREN'S/ADULT PLAYGROUND!

For the youngsters, we provide a children's playground with a trampoline, basketball hoop, slide, teeter-totter, fort, and swings. The 1/3 mile of paved circular driveway also makes for nice bike riding pleasures. For adults, there is a commercial quality, well equipped gym including a 4 stack Hoist Multi - Gym, tread mill, several types of stationary bikes (including upper body), A heavy bag, a speed bag, dumbbell rack, heavy weights, incline bench, and more. (Approx. 1000 ft gym).

Family Games: Horseshoes, Bocce Ball,(lawn bowling), & Croquet.

THERAPEUTIC SPA!

We have an 8 person therapeutic spa in a beautiful, private gazebo done in an Oriental style.

ISLAND ACTIVITIES!

Discover Gabriola Island! There are many activites available for both children and adults:
A golf course and driving range, public tennis courts, two (2) marinas with long or short term charters available for fishing or exploring. There are natural parks that are perfect for hiking, biking and jogging. Some points of interest on Gabriola include Malaspina Galleries, Sands Provincal Park, Berry Point Lookout, Millstone Quarry, Brickyard Beach, Drumbeg Park, Petroglyphs, Sandwell Park and many other beautiful spots. Gabriola is a completely self contained island. For your convenience there is a full service supermarket, seafood market, liquor store, video rentals, restaurants, beauty parlor, message therapy, apothecary, 1 service station and 2 gas stations. There are also artisan & gift shops, art galleries and a museum to explore.

A 30 ft Sunrunner fully equipped for cruising or fishing. Sleeps 6-8 people, central air & heat, generator, tv , vcr, nintendo, microwave,water purifier, bar, food processor, central vacuum, radar, GPS ,Cannon elec. downriggers, full canvas, even the deck is heated.

Charter Boats for rent with Captain Price is $400 up to 4 people for fishing & cruising. Extra people $50 each.

Policies
Deposits and Cancellation Policy:

As we are not equipped as Hotels, & bookings are usually made well in advance, our policy is PAYMENT IN FULL in order to secure or confirm your reservation. The payment is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to Softec, Adventures in Software. (Checks must be cleared prior to arrival) In addition, upon arrival, a security deposit of $500.00 is required! Guests are responsible for missing items, including but not limited to towels, linens, etc., and/or any damage done by themselves or their friends. Of course we encourage you to inspect the house completely upon arrival. We have no objections to accommodating pets, however, there is an additional deposit to cover damage and/or clean up, should it become necessary. Pet owners must be in control of their pets and are fully responsible for their pet's clean up and other damage.

All HOLIDAYS are charged at HIGH SEASON RATES!

Deposits
Payment in full is required with your reservation. There is a $500.00 security deposit required for damaged or missing items. An additional deposit is required should you bring a pet.

Refunds
As we are NOT equipped like a hotel, there are NO refunds. Most of our guests have rented months in advance, and a new renter may not be found.

Damage deposits are mailed back to our customers or credited to their credit cards.
